Pakistan Olympic Association holds first virtual session with national sports federations

Lahore, Pakistan, May 18, 2020: The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) under the direction of its President Lt Gen (retd) Syed Arif Hasan held a virtual session on May 12 with representatives of National Sports Federations and its Athletes Commission.

The first virtual session of the POA created a working group to monitor and formulate the training processes for athletes during this coronavirus crisis, urging the sports community of Pakistan to develop strategies to reduce the risks during sports activities as has been advised by the International Olympic Committee.

The session also recognised the need to hold regular deliberations and discussion on this virtual platform.  

The efforts of the Karachi Sports Forum to help affected sports personnel during the ongoing crisis was also applauded by the session.

Also present at the virtual session were representatives from provincial Olympic organisations, and Muhammad Inam Butt, chairman of POA Athletes Commission.
