Lausanne, Switzerland, May 4, 2026: The “Fit for the Future” initiative of IOC President Kirsty Coventry will be the main focus of attention at the IOC Executive Board meeting from May 5-7.
The “Fit for the Future” process involves four new working groups that will look at the Youth Olympic Games, the Olympic programme, protecting the female category and commercial partnerships and marketing.
These groups are part of the “Fit for the Future” process and follow the consultation with the IOC members in June and consultations with the IOC’s honorary and honour members over the summer.
During this week’s meeting, the EB will receive updates on the activities of the Olympic Movement and the work of the IOC administration. The main focus of the discussions will be the “Fit for the Future” process together with the preparations for the Extraordinary 146th IOC Session on June 24-25, 2026.
An online press conference with a focus on the “Fit for the Future” process will take place after the conclusion of proceedings on Thursday, May 7.
