Phnom Penh, Cambodia, April 30, 2026: The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia has congratulated Olympic swimmer Vitiny Hemthon on passing a leading international coaching award.
Vitiny, who is now Cambodia’s national swim coach, completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) run by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the University of Delaware in the United States.
The mission of the ICECP is to provide national level coaches with a practical program orientated towards developing proficiency in the areas of sports science, talent identification, athlete development, coaching education, coaching management, grassroots sports development and ethical aspects of coaching at all levels of competition and across multiple sports.
Vitiny graduated after nine months of hard work – an achievement celebrated by Cambodia NOC.
Olympic Cambodia posted: “Congratulations to Ms. Hemthon Vitiny, coach of the national swimming team, who has completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program by attending practical courses in the United States and online studies.
“She has successfully completed her studies in Switzerland and received the Olympian Certificate recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
“Miss Hemthon also participated in the signing of the International Olympic House wall - a sign of recognition of her development as an international coach.”
The three-time Olympic swimmer attended the 16th edition graduation ceremony 2025-26 in Lausanne, Switzerland, from April 18-23 and received her certificate from IOC President Kirsty Coventry.
Her studies received support from Cambodia NOC and from the IOC.
