These were just three of the comments from National Olympic Committees at the final Chefs de Mission meeting of the 6th Asian Beach Games at the Athletes Village on Wednesday, April 29.
There was a general feeling of appreciation and gratitude from the delegation leaders for the hard work and dedication of organising committee SABGOC over an eight-year period, as the 6th Asian Beach Games were due to be held in 2020, with planning and preparations beginning in 2018.
Team leaders thanked in particular the accreditation team, the volunteers and the staff of SABGOC inside and outside the Athletes Village, which occupied four of the eight towers of the Mangrove Tree resort.
The Philippine Olympic Committee said the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya had really inspired them as they prepared to host the 7th ABG in Cebu in March 2028. The POC highlighted the warm hospitality and dedication of SABGOC for creating a memorable experience and said they aimed to reciprocate this in two years’ time.
This final CDM meeting was a time for souvenir photos and the exchange of gifts as they celebrated a successful mission – with hopes of meeting again for the 7th ABG in Cebu.
