Sanya, China, April 28, 2026: The Philippine Olympic Committee is promising unrivalled hospitality and dedication to the cause when Cebu City hosts the 7th Asian Beach Games in March 2028.
In a galvanizing social media post following the official signing ceremony of the host city contract with the OCA on April 27, the POC has highlighted the beauty of Cebu and the characteristics of the local people.
In an article headed “The heart of the Filipino on the continental stage”, the POC states: “We Filipinos are known around the globe for our defining traits: our hospitality, outgoingness, dedication and unparalleled resilience.
“Our hospitality drives us to give everything we have to make our visitors feel at home.
“Our outgoing spirit makes us friends to all nations.
“Our dedication serves as the anchor that helps us consistently achieve our grandest goals.
“Most of all, our resilience allows us to conquer all odds - from storms to calamities - always with an unwavering smile on our faces.”
Looking forward to the 7th Asian Beach Games, the post adds: “As we embark on the historic mission of hosting our first Olympic Council of Asia event since 1954, it is time to show our Asian neighbors - and the rest of the world - exactly what world-class Filipino hospitality looks like.”
