Doha, Qatar, April 27, 2026: The Organising Committee of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 has significantly accelerated preparations as the countdown begins for the highly anticipated regional event from May 11 to 22.

The event will bring together elite athletes from across the Gulf Cooperation Council nations who will compete in 19 sports, including athletics, swimming, basketball (3x3 and 5x5), volleyball, handball, padel, karate, fencing and equestrian events.

Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, Chairman of the Sports Committee, confirmed that technical preparations were progressing according to a carefully structured plan designed to ensure every competition was staged at the highest possible level.

Mrs. Eman Al Emadi, Chairwoman of the Services Committee, said: “We are focusing on every detail related to transportation, accommodation and hospitality while striving to provide smooth and distinguished services that reflect Qatar’s renowned hospitality and ensure the comfort of all participants throughout the Games.”

Meanwhile, Salah Al Saadi, Chairman of the Venues Committee, confirmed that all sporting facilities were ready and prepared to the highest specifications. Ten state-of-the-art competition venues, including Aspire Dome and the Hamad Aquatic Centre, will ensure a world-class sporting experience.

The Organising Committee has also unveiled the official emblem of the Games, inspired by the palm tree, one of the most deeply rooted symbols of Gulf heritage and identity. The design features six palm fronds, representing the six GCC nations – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The first edition of the GCC Games was held in 2011 in Manama, Bahrain; the second edition in 2015 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; and the third edition in 2022 in Kuwait.
