Oman defeats Jordan in men's beach handball

Sanya, China, April 26, 2026: The Omani national beach handball team secured a 2-0 victory over Jordan on Sunday, April 26 at the Tianya Haijiao Beach Handball Venue.

According to the Group B standings, Qatar sits firmly at the top with a perfect record of six wins and zero losses, accumulating 12 points.

Thailand occupies second place with five wins and one loss, giving them 10 points.

Oman currently holds third place with four wins and two losses for eight points, while Jordan sits in joint fourth place alongside Pakistan with three wins and three losses for six points. There is only one round of matches still to play.

Only the top two teams in the eight-team group advance to the semifinals,

Oman entered their match against Jordan as the favorites given their superior record, while Jordan hoped to finish their campaign on a positive note.

The match itself was a hard-fought encounter. Oman demonstrated strong attacking play throughout. Al Hassani was seen celebrating key scores during the match, while Jordan's Ahmed Obeidat attempted to lead his team's response.

Oman's performance was ultimately enough to secure the 2-0 victory, handing Jordan a third defeat of the competition.

The semifinals are scheduled for April 29, followed by the medal matches on April 30.
