OCA to host meeting for NOC Safeguarding Officers in Sanya

Sanya, China, April 26, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia is hosting a coordination meeting for Safeguarding Officers from National Olympic Committees at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.

The meeting will take place at the OCA Offices in the Athletes’ Village on Thursday, April 30, starting at 9am. The closing ceremony of the 6th ABG will be held in the evening.

In a circular to NOC Safeguarding Officers, the OCA states: “We invite all NOC Safeguarding Officers present in Sanya to attend a coordination meeting. The session will cover key checklists for pre-Games, during the Games and post-Games, as well as recommendations and shared experiences. We look forward to a constructive and collaborative discussion.”

The OCA wants all 45 NOCs to appoint a designated Safeguarding Officer to look after the interests and well-being of athletes.

Safeguarding is one of the key focuses of the OCA and features prominently in the “Guarding the Asian Games” initiative.
