Sanya, China, April 25, 2026: The Philippines produced a dominant performance to defeat Macao, China 21–9 in the women’s 3x3 basketball Group C contest at the Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 on Saturday, April 25.
Displaying control from the outset, the Philippine side dictated the pace of play with disciplined defense and efficient execution in attack. Their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities while limiting Macao’s rhythm proved decisive, as they closed the game comfortably at the Sanya Sports Centre Gymnasium.
Philippines player Kaye Pingol expressed satisfaction following the victory, emphasizing its impact on the team’s confidence. “We are very happy with this result. It gives us confidence moving into the next game,” she said.
She added that the team’s performance reflects long-term preparation. “We started playing together three years ago, and today we showed the result of that work by giving our best on the court.”
Pingol also acknowledged the wider support system behind the team’s development. “We thank our women players back home who have supported and pushed us to reach this level,” she said.
Earlier in the day, the Philippines opened their Group C campaign with a 15–11 victory over Indonesia, securing back-to-back wins to strengthen their position in the standings.
