China takes golden tally to nine after three days of ABG action

Sanya, China, April 25, 2026: China increased their gold medal haul to nine to lead the rankings after three days of the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.

China has garnered nine gold medals - six more than Thailand in second place and the Philippines in third, both with three gold medals.

The United Arab Emirates and Vietnam are fourth and fifth, respectively, with two gold medals, followed by Korea in sixth and Kazakhstan in seventh , both with one gold medal.

China’s nine gold medals have come in five sports – three apiece in dragon boat and aquathlon and one each in open water swimming, water polo and beach athletics.

As well as nine gold medals, China has also collected eight silver and two bronze medals for 19 total medals.

Thailand’s three gold medals have come in beach athletics (2) and dragon boat, while the Philippines have won two gold in jiu jitsu and one in beach athletics.

China leads the way on 9-8-2 (19), followed by Thailand 3-2-3 (8), Philippines 3-1-2 (6), UAE 2-2-2 (6) and Vietnam 2-1-2 (5).

So far, 14 NOCs have won at least one medal.
