Hong Kong, China claims first medal of Sanya 2026

Sanya, China, April 25, 2026: Hong Kong, China athletes Bailee Brown, Choi Yan Yin, Wong Tsz To and Yu Shing Him won a silver medal on Saturday, April 25 at the Sanya 2026 Asian Beach Games Aquathlon Mixed Relay event.

It is also Hong Kong’s first medal at the ABG. The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) extends its warmest congratulations to the athletes and the coaching team.

 Mr. Yeung Wing Sun, Vice-President of SF&OC and Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China delegation to the Sanya 2026 ABG, said: “Bailee Brown, Choi Yan Yin, Wong Tsz To and Yu Shing Him gave their all in the race.

 “With sheer determination and steady performance, they outpaced their rivals to claim the silver medal, fully demonstrating sportsmanship and team spirit. This is truly inspiring. We look forward to seeing our athletes continue to perform at their best in the events ahead and achieve outstanding results.”

 China, represented by Lin Xinyu, Teng Yunfeng, Lu Meiyi and Luo Yunkang, won gold in 1 hour, 1 minute and 44 seconds, 51 seconds ahead of Hong Kong, China, who took silver in 1:02:35.

 Japan came in third at 1:03:54, 2 minutes and 10 seconds off the pace. Japan were represented by Mao Shimazaki, Isaki Oku, Ikumi Seto and Yuya Kobayashi.

The Hong Kong, China delegation comprises 120 members, including 84 athletes, to compete in eight sports: Open Water Swimming, Water Polo, 3x3 Basketball, Beach Athletics, Beach Handball, Dragon Boat, Windsurfing and Aquathlon.
