Qatar NOC e-sports tournament attracts 160 players

Doha, Qatar, September 24, 2019: The Qatar Olympic Committee organised the 13th edition of the Electronic Games Tournament (FIFA 2019) at Sports Corner in Tawar Mall, Doha. The QOC's Secretary General, Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, attended the event.

In the senior category, Yousef Al Darwish claimed first place and prize money of QR 7,000; second place went to Rashid Abdurrahman, who earned QR 5,000, and Jassim Al Eid seized third place and QR 3,000.

In the junior category, Tamim Ibrahim Al Hour won first place (QR 3,000 coupon), Ahmed Alaa El Deen won second (QR 2,000 coupon) and third place went to Abdurrahman Emad (QR 1,000 coupon).

Mr. Khaleel Al Jaber, Director of the Sports Affairs department at QOC, Mr. Jaber Saleh Al Mosallem, Chairman of The Blue Group, Nasser Al Mudahka, Head of Sport Activities and Programmes at the QOC, and Mr. Barbaros Akyildiz, Managing Director of The Blue Group, crowned the winners.

The 13th edition of the FIFA 2019 electronic games tournament, which was held by the knockout system, saw a massive turnout of around 160 players.

The QOC organises the electronic games tournament every year in an effort to increase the participation of the community in sport and entertainment activities. The first edition of the tournament was held in 2007.
