Sanya, China, April 24, 2026: The Jordanian national beach handball team secured a convincing victory over Bangladesh in their Group B match at Tianya Haijiao Beach Handball Venue 1 on Friday, April 24.

Jordan won the match 2-0 in straight sets. The first set saw Jordan dominate with a commanding 19-12 scoreline. The Jordanian attack proved too powerful for the Bangladeshi defense, consistently finding ways to score through a variety of techniques including spinning shots and special throws.

The second set witnessed even greater Jordanian dominance. Jordan held Bangladesh to just six points while putting up 14 themselves, closing out the set 14-6 and securing the straight sets victory.

Several Jordanian players stood out in the official match statistics. Ahmad Al-Otabi, wearing number 7, scored multiple goals including spinning shot goals in both sets. Ali Ja'ara, number 77, contributed with special throw goals. Ahmad Obeidat, number 30, added spinning shot goals of his own. The Jordanian team showed balanced attacking options, with goals coming from different players and different types of shots throughout the match.

Jordan's defense also played a crucial role in the victory. Goalkeeper Ahmad Albess, number 16, made several key saves. The Jordanian defense consistently blocked and intercepted Bangladesh's attacking attempts, limiting them to only six points in the second set.

This victory was important for Jordan's hopes of advancing from a highly competitive Group B. Earlier in the tournament, Jordan lost to Thailand on April 21 before defeating the Maldives later that same day. On April 23, Jordan secured a victory over Pakistan.

Group B features eight teams: Qatar, Oman, Thailand, Pakistan, Jordan, Maldives, Bangladesh and Mongolia. Only the top two teams from the group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for April 28, followed by the medal matches on April 30.

With the win over Bangladesh, Jordan added two more points to their group stage tally. They will look to build on this momentum as the group stage continues, with the goal of securing a top two finish and advancing to the knockout rounds.
