Sanya, China, April 23, 2026: The Jordanian national beach handball team secured a crucial victory against Pakistan in their Group B match at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China on Thursday.

The match, played at the Tianya Haijiao Tourist Area, saw Jordan deliver a determined performance to earn two important points in the group standings. Coming into this match, Jordan had already split their opening games on April 21, losing 2-0 to Thailand before bouncing back to defeat the Maldives 2-0.

Pakistan, meanwhile, entered the match after a tough opening loss to defending champions Qatar.

From the first whistle, Jordan showed great energy and commitment. The players worked together as a unit, fighting for every ball and pushing through the physical demands of beach handball. The victory adds two valuable points to Jordan's tally as they aim to advance from a highly competitive Group B, which includes eight teams: Oman, Pakistan, Jordan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar and Mongolia.

After the match, Jordanian player Amer Sayaheen (number 80) shared his thoughts: "First of all, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Thank God, we succeeded in getting the two points. The guys did not fall short today, everyone worked hard, strived, and put in the effort. Thank God."

The win keeps Jordan's hopes alive for advancing to the knockout stage. Only the top two teams from Group B will move on to the semi-finals scheduled for April 28, followed by the medal matches on April 30.

Jordan will continue their group stage campaign with upcoming matches against Bangladesh and Qatar on April 24, followed by Oman on April 26, before concluding against Mongolia on April 27.
