OCA’s new Vice President for Almaty 2029 - Kudrat Shamiyev

Sanya, China, April 22, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia has a new Vice President – Kudrat Shamiyev of Kazakhstan.

Shamiyev was nominated by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the position of Vice President responsible for the 10th Asian Winter Games in Almaty in 2029. This was approved by the OCA Executive Board on Tuesday, April 21 in Sanya.

Shamiyev is a member of the Executive Committee of the NOC of Kazakhstan and also the President of the Taekwondo Federation of Kazakhstan.

“In addition, he plays a key role in the development of national sports infrastructure, being directly involved in the planning and oversight of newly constructed sports facilities that will be used during the Almaty 2029 Games,” the Kazakhstan NOC President, Gennadiy Golovkin, said in a letter to the OCA Director General, Husain Al Musallam.

“His hands-on experience, combined with his leadership in both Olympic and federation structures, provides him with a comprehensive understanding of sport governance and event delivery at the highest level,” Golovkin added.

Shamiyev, 35, has a background in banking, international business management and finance. His skills include strategic planning, financial management, project management, risk management, attracting investments, effective negotiations, strategic change management and corporate leadership.
