Thimphu, Bhutan, April 22, 2026: In support of Team Bhutan’s preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, Bhutan Cricket has created a banner to raise awareness and encourage the cricketers who will represent the country in Japan later this year.

The banner is being displayed throughout the second edition of the BIFA (Bhutan India Friendship Association) Cup 2026 which got underway on Tuesday, April 21 at the Gelephu International Cricket Ground.

Featuring both men’s and women’s competitions, teams from Bhutan and Assam, India have come together in a contest to reflect rivalry and connection across borders.

The Bhutan Olympic Committee praised the move on social media, saying: “A strong high five to Bhutan Cricket for turning this platform into more than just a tournament, but a show of belief in Team Bhutan.

“When one sport stands for another, the whole nation moves forward.”
