Sanya, China, April 20, 2026: The 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China from April 22-30 will comprise eight competition venue clusters.
Organising committee SABGOC has stressed that all venues are either refurbished existing stadiums or temporary, in keeping with the green and sustainable concept of the ABG.
*Beach Volleyball, Sport Climbing and Beach Handball venues are located in the Tianya Haijiao Venue Cluster.
*Beach Soccer, Teqball, Beach Wrestling, Jiu jitsu, Sailing, Aquathlon, Beach Kabaddi and Beach Athletics will be staged along the 22-kilometre Sanya Bay coastline and nearby waters.
*Dragon Boat is set on the Sanya River.
*3x3 Basketball will take place at the Sanya Sports Centre.
All competition and training venues are within a 30-minute journey from the Conifer headquarters hotel and the Athletes Village located in four towers of the Mangrove Tree Resort.
Following the Games, the gymnasium at Sanya Sports Centre will continue to host sporting events and public fitness activities, regularly open to the public and supporting various competitions.
At the Tianya Haijiao Venue Cluster, the climbing wall and beach volleyball courts will be preserved and accessible to the public, creating a versatile sports and leisure complex that combines fitness, recreation and training.
Moreover, sections of the Sanya Bay venues will be transformed into public coastal spaces.
By collaborating with both domestic and international sports organisations and travel agencies, themed programmes will be implemented to attract sports enthusiasts for ongoing training, fostering a closer integration of tourism and sports.
Through strategic planning, the venues for Sanya 2026 will evolve from simple event infrastructure into valuable long-term assets that foster the growth of sports and enhance the cultural and tourism sectors, ensuring a lasting legacy of the Games.
