Asian Games 2026 host city Nagoya to stage next leg of Fun Run

Nagoya, Japan, April 17, 2026: The 20th Asian Games host city of Nagoya in Aichi prefecture will organise the next leg of the Asian Games Fun Run on Saturday, April 18.

Organising committee AINAGOC and the OCA held a joint press conference on Friday to promote the fun run.

At the press conference, AINAGOC explained the significance of hosting the Asian Games and conducted promotional activities for the Fun Run.

Seven media organizations, including newspapers and television broadcasters, attended the press conference.

A Q & A session covered topics such as key highlights of the fun run event and the current status of preparations for the 20th Asian Games, which will run from September 19 to October 4. 

“The media response was positive, with strong interest shown in the upcoming fun run and the Asian Games,” AINAGOC said. “Interest in the Asian Games and the fun run is increasing significantly.”

On Saturday, 500 participants, selected by lottery from more than 10,000 applicants, will enjoy running on the track of the newly renovated Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.

The OCA was represented at the press conference by the Director of Media and Broadcasting, Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, and AINAGOC was represented by Acting Director General Mr. Yasuhiro Nakamori.

Even Asian Games mascot Honohon joined in the fun - and will surely be a key attraction at the fun run on Saturday.
