Sanya, China, April 17, 2026: The Palestine Olympic Committee sports delegation held its first meeting in Sanya, China to discuss final preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games.
The POC media department reports that Amar Tamizi, the head of the mission, welcomed the athletes and members of the technical and administrative staff to the meeting.
He stressed the importance of this participation in providing a bright picture of Palestinian sport, in the light of the current circumstances and challenges that Palestine is facing.
“Tamizi said that the participation carries a Palestinian national message that highlights the willingness of the Palestinian player to overcome difficulties and compete in the biggest competitions,” the POC stated in a social media post.
“In this context, Tamizi called on the delegation members to continue their preparations until the start of competitions in order to achieve the best result for every player and team present in this continental event.”
During the meeting, all the logistical arrangements related to the participation of the Palestinian delegation were reviewed and key information and details about the ABG were provided.
The 6th ABG will run from April 22-30 with 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 62 events.
