Sanya, China, April 15, 2026: The action and excitement will be relentless at the Sanya Bay Yuhai Club Venue Cluster (YHC) during the 6th Asian Beach Games from April 22-30.
The YHC will host no fewer than four sports, some of them traditional and others on the way to establishing themselves in the mainstream.
Beach soccer will see a men’s competition only, as the women’s event was scrapped due to the low number of entries. Matches will begin on Thursday, April 23 and the final is set for Wednesday, April 29, with an 8.30pm kick off under the lights to add to the electric atmosphere.
Jiu Jitsu is scheduled for April 23-24, Thursday and Friday, and will award three gold medals each day – women’s 52kg, women’s 63kg and men’s 62kg on day one and men’s 69kg, men’s 77kg and women’s 57kg on day two.
The growing sport of Teqball will be held from April 24-27, Friday-Monday, culminating in three gold medals on the last day. The three events are women’s doubles, mixed doubles and men’s doubles, and the silky skills of the players on the curved, table tennis-sized table will surely impress the spectators.
Beach Wrestling begins on Tuesday, April 28, with eight medals to be awarded the following day. The eight categories are: Men’s 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and +90kg and Women’s 50kg, 60kg, 70kg and +70kg.
This sport will provide gripping, top-class entertainment in the energy-sapping conditions of the sun and sand of Sanya – and every champion will have thoroughly deserved their gold medal.
There will be two Fields of Play and three training areas for beach wrestling, and a stand for 800 spectators.
