Sailing offers eight gold medals at Sanya Asian Beach Games

Sanya, China, April 14, 2026: Sailing will take place at the Sanya Bay Haihong Square over six days during the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya this month.

 

Sailing, which offers eight gold medals, will begin on April 23 and wrap up on April 28 with the victory ceremony for all eight events, scheduled for 5pm.

 

The eight events are: Foil Windsurfing Boys (born in or after 2006) and Foil Windsurfing Girls (born in or after 2006), Optimist Boys (born in or after 2011) and Optimist Girls (born in or after 2011), International Laser Class Association 4 Boys (born in or after 2009) and ILCA 4 Girls (born in or after 2009), and Formula Kite Men and Formula Kite Women.

 

Each National Olympic Committee may enter up to 16 athletes – eight male and eight female.

 

The sailing area in the water is divided into Field of Play A and Field of Play B. The sea area measures 3,500 metres in length and 3,500 metres in width.

 

The venue is 12km from the Athletes’ Village.
