Laos NOC highlights key takeaways from SEAGF meeting

Vientiane, Laos, April 13, 2026: The National Olympic Committee of Laos has looked back on their successful participation in the first council meeting for the 2025-2027 term of the South East Asian Games Federation.

 

In a social media post, NOC Laos has highlighted the key takeaways from the meeting, which was held from April 6-9 at Sunway Resort Hotel, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

 

“The South East Asian Games Federation held its first council meeting for the 2025–2027 term on April 8, 2026, focusing on preparations for the 2027 SEA Games,” NOC Laos reported.

 

“Key outcomes included appointing Sunway Group as a strategic partner, approving stricter anti-doping measures and setting a May 8 deadline for sport proposals.”

 

NOC Laos highlighted the key takeaways from the meeting:

 *WADA Compliance: Malaysia will be the first host to enforce the World Anti-Doping Code, ensuring full compliance for the 2027 SEA Games.

*Host Duties: The meeting confirmed Malaysia's readiness for the 34th SEA Games in 2027.

*Event Schedule: The 2027 SEA Games will be held in Sarawak, Penang, Johor and Kuala Lumpur, departing from the tradition of keeping events solely in the peninsula.

 

The Lao NOC delegates were accompanied in Malaysia by representatives of the Lao National Anti-Doping Agency.
