Ramallah, Palestine, April 13, 2026: The Palestine Olympic Committee held a farewell ceremony for the sports delegation that will participate at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China from April 22-30.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of the President of the Palestine NOC, Major General Jibril Rajoub, and in attendance was the Chinese Ambassador to Palestine, Li Chen, the leadership of a number of sporting federations and the athletes.
Palestine is sending a 20-strong athlete contingent who will compete in six sports.
The Palestine Olympic Committee President underlined the friendship that unites Palestine and China, and said sport was a bridge connecting the people.
It was stressed that, despite the current circumstances and challenges faced by athletes, the Palestine NOC had been determined to be represented at the Asian Beach Games, emphasising that Palestinian sports represented a platform for the Palestinian people to present their cause and struggle.
In his turn, Chinese Ambassador Li wished the Palestinian delegation every success and a wonderful stay in Sanya.
