Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 9, 2026: The South East Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) has announced the appointment of Sunway Group as its Strategic Partner for the term 2025-2027.
This momentous partnership was celebrated at the welcome reception for the SEAGF Meetings No. 1 (2025-2027) held on Tuesday, April 7 at the Sunway Resort Hotel, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
To commemorate this significant collaboration, Dr. Norza Zakaria, President of SEAGF, President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia and OCA Vice President, presented a special plaque to Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, Chairman of the Sunway Group.
The presentation was witnessed by the Hon. Dr. Mohammed Taufik Johari, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, who also serves as Chairman of the Malaysian SEA Games Organizing Committee (MASOC).
The strategic partnership between SEAGF and Sunway Group is a direct result of the vision and foresight of Dr. Norza. By bringing Sunway Group on board, he has ensured that international delegates will experience top-class amenities, award-winning medical facilities and world-class hospitality within the Sunway City.
This collaboration is set to support the 34th SEA Games Malaysia 2027, scheduled to take place from September 18-29, 2027 across four clusters: Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, Penang and Johor.
The welcome reception was organised in conjunction with the celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr, creating a warm atmosphere of unity and festivity among all 11 member NOCs of SEAGF: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
