Seoul, Korea, April 7, 2026: The President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC), Ryu Seung-min, says he was “deeply saddened” by the passing of IOC Honorary Member Sir Craig Reedie.
“Sir Craig devoted his entire life to the service of sport and the Olympic Movement,” Ryu posted on social media.
The former Olympic table tennis champion added: “What makes this loss feel even more personal is that I had the privilege of seeing him at the 2025 World Conference on Doping in Sport in Busan, where we shared many meaningful conversations.
“That memory makes this news all the more difficult to accept.
“As President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and a former IOC Member, I would like to express my deepest respect for Sir Craig’s extraordinary life of service to sport. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and all those across the world. May he rest in peace.”
