Muscat, Oman, April 7, 2026: The Oman Olympic Committee in conjunction with Olympic Solidarity held a programme to promote Olympic Culture and Values by launching an Olympic Values Torch Tour on Sunday, April 5.
The initiative was organised by the Oman Olympic Academy and commenced with a workshop at the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm. The programme will continue across several governorates in the country and is part of a structured timeline aimed at reaching various segments of society.
This key project, supported by the IOC and Olympic Solidarity, utilises educational materials and guides from the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP).
It is aimed at strengthening Olympic values and principles among young athletes, students and youth of all ages and educational levels through sports practices that emphasises learning and applying behavioural and ethical principles endorsed by the IOC.
The programme was delivered by lecturer Hisham Salim Al Adwani, Programme Director, and was supervised by Dr. Ishaq bin Ahmed Al Balushi, OOA Director.
The programme will also be implemented this year in the capital Muscat, Al Wusta, North Al Sharqiyah, Musandam, Dhofar and Al Buraimi.
