Bahrain to compete in four sports at 6th Asian Beach Games

Manama, Bahrain, April 6, 2026: Bahrain will take part in four sports at the 6thAsian Beach Games in Sanya, China, from April 22 – 30, 2026.

 

An online meeting of the Bahrain administrative delegation for the Sanya ABG, chaired by delegation head Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, was held on Sunday, April 5.

 

Abdulghaffar welcomed all participants to the video meeting, and conveyed the greetings of H.E. Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 

During the meeting the final arrangements were discussed revolving on transport logistics and the number of sports the Kingdom will compete in.

 

The four sports are beach handball, 3x3 basketball, beach wrestling and open water swimming.

 

Abdulghaffar also revealed that travel arrangements made by the OCA will result in all Gulf delegations, including Bahrain, departing on April 15 on a special flight from Doha, Qatar, to Sanya, in light of the current circumstances in the region. 

 

He said the Bahraini delegation would leave for Doha on April 14.
