Seoul, Korea, April 2, 2026: The President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, Ryu Seung-min, was invited to a conference luncheon by the Prime Minister of Korea, Kim Min-seok.
Ryu, a former Olympic table tennis champion, was accompanied by senior members of the sports movement at regional and national level in Korea at the luncheon, which was held on April 1.
“The Prime Minister pays a lot of attention to current affairs in the sports world. He has shown a lot of passion and interest in the sports industry,” Ryu commented.
Ryu added that the Prime Minister was especially keen for the sports industry to receive priority allocation and an increased budget when the National Sports Fund is set up.
He said the KSOC would repay the Prime Minister’s interest with an athlete-focused administration that would enable athletes to receive the necessary support.
