Ice hockey player Randy Mak appointed Olympic Ambassador for Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong, China, April 1, 2026: The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) has appointed Randy‍ Mak (ice hockey) as the new Olympic Ambassador. 

 

The appointment demonstrates SF&OC’s commitment to promoting Olympism, with the official ceremony held during the SF&OC annual dinner on March 31, 2026. 

 

Mak will represent Hong Kong, China at the 66th International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors in Athens, Greece from June 6-18. During the session, he will engage in exchanges with representatives from around the world and deepen his understanding of the Olympic spirit.

 

Mr. Kenneth Fok, Vice-President of SF&OC and Chairperson of the Hong Kong, China Olympic Academy, said: “Randy represented Hong Kong, China at the Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Games early last year, delivering a commendable performance. 

 

“Later in the year, as the captain of the Hong Kong U20 team, he led the squad to secure a silver medal at the IIHF U20 World Championship. 

 

“Randy represents the younger generation of athletes, taking on the ambassador role from Stephanie Au (swimming) and Nicolas Choi (fencing). This reflects the succession of generations within Hong Kong’s sporting community.” 

 

Upon completion of the IOC session, Mak will carry on the mission of promoting Olympism by participating in initiatives organised by SF&OC and the Olympic Academy, contributing to the development of sport in Hong Kong.
