Amman, Jordan, May 10, 2020: The Jordan Olympic Committee has presented a plan to the Jordan government for the resumption of sporting activities in the country.

An online meeting of the Jordan NOC’s board of directors, chaired by the President, HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, last week reviewed the economic, technical and health implications of the enforced stoppage of sporting activities due to the coronavirus.

It submitted its recommendations to the government for the return of the sports sector while ensuring that all necessary preventive measures to combat the virus are adhered to.

A special team formed by the Jordan NOC presented a “plan for the return of work in the sports sector” to the government and relevant authorities in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The submitted plan guaranteed the Jordan Olympic Committee would adhere to all health standards put in place by the government and would make all efforts to preserve the safety of everyone in the sports sector.

The plans included starting work at the NOC headquarters, sports federations, sport centres and clubs affiliated with these federations, and considering the resumption of sporting competitions at a later date and with different mechanisms according to each sport.

The Jordan Olympic Committee suspended all sports activities on March 14.
