Doha, Qatar, March 30, 2026: Three-time Asian Beach Games men’s handball champions Qatar have named a 10-strong squad for Sanya 2026.
The roster is: Hasanein Aziz Bouzar, Malik Faisal Sousou, Osama Bakr Mousa, Said Al-Din Al-Bashir, Osama Al-Toumi, Adel Al-Sadiq Fathallah, Mohammed Hassan Saleh, Hassan Bashir Mohammed, Abdulrahman Helmi Dakhil and Bilal Masoud Mararha.
Team Qatar enters the men’s handball competition at the 6th ABG as the overwhelming favourite, backed by an exceptional record that includes three consecutive gold medals at the last three editions – Haiyang (2012), Phuket (2014) and Danang (2016).
Team Qatar will begin their title-defence on April 21 – a day before the opening ceremony – with matches against Pakistan and Oman.
They will then face Bangladesh and Mongolia on April 23, Jordan on April 24, Thailand on April 26 and Maldives on April 27.
The semi-finals will be on April 28 and the final on April 30 - the last day of the Games.
The other group comprises China, Iran, Philippines, Hong Kong China, India, Sri Lanka and Bahrain.
The 6th Asian Beach Games will run from April 22-30 at Sanya, Hainan Island and will feature 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 62 events.
