New Delhi, India, May 7, 2020: India’s Sports Ministry has invited nominations for the 2020 National Sports Awards including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and Arjuna Award.

The ministry has asked for nominations to be sent via email in view of the coronavirus situation. The process, which usually starts in April, has been delayed due to the pandemic.

The ministry gave a deadline of June 3 to file nominations.

The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is the highest sporting honour in the country and was jointly won by Paralympian Deepa Malik and wrestler Bajrang Punia last year. The Arjuna Award is the second-highest sporting award.
