Sri Lanka NOC completes first Sports Administrators Course 2026

Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 26, 2026: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka successfully concluded the first Sports Administrators Course 2026 designed to strengthen the capacity of officials connected with Team Sri Lanka.

 

The four-day intensive course, from March 19 – 22 at Olympic House in Colombo, brought together 36 participants from national federations, universities, the Ministry of Sport, the Sri Lanka Air Force and several leading sports institutions.

 

The course prepared participants for upcoming international events, including the Sanya Asian Beach Games, next month.

 

A wide range of subjects essential for modern sports administration were covered, including the Olympic Movement and its governance structure, ethical and clean sports practices, athlete welfare, leadership and communication, sports science and technology, governance, risk management and events operation.

 

The course was delivered under the expert guidance of an experienced panel of National Course Directors comprising Group Captain (retd.) Nalin de Silva, Dr. Shemal Fernando, Ms. Anoma Rathnayaka and Gobinath Sivarajah.
