IOA President PT Usha meets Indian PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, India, March 25, 2026: Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, March 24.

 

The IOA President described her meeting with the Prime Minister as a “warm and memorable moment”, and expressed deep gratitude for his support.

 

Usha posted on Instagram: “It was a warm and memorable moment meeting Hon. Shri Narendra Modi Ji today, accompanied by my son Ujjwal. 

 

"Deeply grateful for his blessings, constant inspiration, invaluable guidance and unwavering support. Moments like these stay close to the heart.” 

 

During the meeting Usha highlighted India’s transformed sporting landscape with better infrastructure and institutional backing for athletes. She confirmed India’s hosting of the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the ambitious vision to bring the 2036 Olympic Games to the country.

 

She emphasised that hosting the Olympics would accelerate sports development and inspire future generations.
