Mongolia NOC Congress celebrates 70th anniversary

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, March 17, 2026: The 9th Mongolian National Olympic Committee Congress at the Shangri-La, Ulaanbaatar on March 12 coincided with the 70th anniversary of the MNOC, established in 1956.

 As well as re-electing IOC Member Battushig Batbold as President for the term 2026-2030, the Congress dealt with a full agenda.

 The Congress opened with 136 of the 171 eligible members present, and the number increased to 153 by the time of the elections. Battushig Batbold was the sole candidate for President and received 96.7 per cent of the vote.

 First Vice President Naranbaatar Choijgavaa, President of the Mongolian Masters Association, and Vice President Gantulga Tsendsuren, President of the Mongolian Table Tennis Association, were also elected.

 Fourteen candidates were nominated for the Executive Board by the member National Federations. The seven candidates with the highest number of votes were elected as members:

*Yeroolbat Galbadrakh, Secretary General of the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation

*Sodbaatar Yangug, President of the Mongolian Wrestling Federation

*Buyandelger Peljee, a member of the Board of Directors

*Myagmarjav Luvsandash, President of the Roller Skating Federation

*Bolormaa Luvsan-Ish, President of the Mongolian Skating Federation

*Sandui Tsendsuren, President of the Mongolian Triathlon Federation

*Enkhtur Batkhuu, a member of the Board of the Mongolian Cycling Federation

 Notably, among the delegates at the Congress, the oldest attendee was 100, while the youngest was 29. 

 The Congress also included five recipients of the titles Hero of Labor and People’s Teacher, 11 honored title holders, 37 International Masters of Sport, 16 Masters of Sport and five athletes who have won Olympic or World Championship medals.
