Kuwait City, Kuwait, March 17, 2026: The draw for team sports at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China next month will take place on Wednesday, March 18.
The draw will be for three team sports – beach handball, beach kabaddi and beach soccer – and will be conducted by the Sanya Asian Beach Games Organising Committee.
It will start at 3pm China time in Beijing and Shanghai and will be available on zoom for all National Olympic Committees in Asia to follow.
The attendees will include Mr. Ganesan Sundarammoorthy, Sports Director, OCA Sports Department; Mr. Li Haigang, Deputy Secretary General and Director, Sports Department, SABGOC; Mrs. Du Liyin, Deputy Secretary General, SABGOC; Mr. Li Bin, Deputy Director, Sports Department, SABGOC; representatives of the Chinese Olympic Committee; Technical Delegates of beach soccer, beach handball and beach kabaddi; competition managers and assistant competition managers; representatives of the participating NOCs; NOC liaisons of participating NOCs; official sponsors.
The draw for beach soccer will be first, followed by beach handball and beach kabaddi.
*Beach soccer (men): Seven teams will be divided into two groups. The teams are China, Oman, Iran, Palestine, Jordan, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. There will be three teams in Group A and four in Group B.
*Beach handball (men): The 15 teams are China, Oman, Iran, Pakistan, Jordan, Philippines, Maldives, Hong Kong-China, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Qatar and Bahrain. The 15 teams will be divided into two groups, with seven in Group A and eight in Group B.
*Beach handball (women): The nine teams are China, India, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Hong Kong-China, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka. They will be drawn into two groups, with four in Group A and five in Group B.
*Beach kabaddi (men): The eight teams – Pakistan, India, Thailand, Iran, Syria, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Bangladesh – will be drawn into two groups of four.
*Beach kabaddi (women): Seven teams – India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh and Syria – will be drawn into two groups, with three teams in Pool A and four in Pool B.
The 6th Asian Beach Games will take place in Sanya, Hainan Island, from April 22-30 with 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 63 events.
