Sanya, China, March 14, 2026: The Sanya Asian Beach Games Organising Committee has successfully completed the sand sports test events ahead of the April 22-30 showcase.
SABGOC reports that major competitions were held simultaneously in beach volleyball, teqball and aquathlon from March 5-8 and that their success validated the preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games.
“Sanya showcased its strong capability to host the event and sufficient confidence for the official competition through first-class venues, first-class organization and first-class support,” SABGOC said.
“Strictly aligning with the official competition standards, the test events focused on the core goals of training the team, verifying processes, optimizing support and enhancing capabilities.”
The test events covered the entire chain of competition organization, venue facilities, service support, safety and emergency response, providing a real "pre-competition exam."
The beach volleyball competition attracted 28 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams from 28 countries and regions.
Six men’s and women’s teams took part in the teqball competition, while the swim-run aquathlon test event at Sanya Bay Photography Base featured men’s and women’s individual races and a mixed relay.
“From world-class competition venues and professional facilities to efficient operation teams and thoughtful volunteer services; from meticulous logistics support and timely medical aid to tight security protection and smooth process coordination, the preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games have taken effect in all aspects,” SABGOC said.
