OCA, ANOCA postpone Afro-Asian Cultural Performance

Kuwait City, Kuwait, March 13, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) have announced that the Afro-Asian Cultural Performance has been postponed.

 

The event was due to be held in Kuwait City – home of the OCA – on Saturday, March 28, featuring all 99 National Olympic Committees in the two confederations and a host of international guests.

 

In a statement dated March 12, OCA President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and ANOCA President Mustapha Berraf informed the NOCs of ANOCA and OCA and the Executive Boards of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the OCA: “Due to the current unforeseen circumstances in the Middle East, the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) have decided to postpone the Afro-Asian Cultural Performance that was scheduled to take place in Kuwait on 28 March, 2026.

 

“A new date for the event will be communicated in due course once the situation allows for appropriate arrangements to be made.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this postponement may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”

 

The Afro-Asian Cultural Performance was due to showcase the vast array of rich culture to be found in Asia and Africa and herald a new era of close cooperation between the two continents regarding the Olympic Movement, including sport, education and culture.
