Kuwait City, Kuwait, March 6, 2026: Teqball and Padel have been added to the sports programme for the 20th Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

In a circular to the Olympic Council of Asia’s 45 National Olympic Committees dated March 5, OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam writes: “I have the pleasure to inform you that Teqball and Padel have officially been included as a medal sport in the forthcoming 20th Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya from 19th September to 4th October 2026.

“You (NOCs) will shortly be receiving a detailed Entry by Number and Entry by Name forms from the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC).

“Wishing all your athletes the very best for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.”

Teqball is a fast-growing sport which requires soccer skills on a curved, table tennis-sized table.

Padel is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It is usually played in doubles on a small enclosed court with glass and mesh walls that are part of the game. It has the same scoring system as tennis but different rules. For example, the rackets are solid and perforated.
