Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 5, 2026: The UAE Olympic Committee held an online meeting with national sports associations to review preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China next month, the Olympic Committee posted on social media on March 3.
The meeting was conducted by the technical and sports affairs department of the Olympic Committee in order to ensure a smooth build-up to and participation in the Sanya ABG, which will run from April 22-30.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the Olympic Committee, Ahmad Al Tayyib, Director of the Department of Technical and Sports Affairs, and by representatives of sports associations.
The meeting conveyed the best wishes of H.E. Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, who emphasized the importance of intensifying the preparations to present an honorable image of the UAE at this international multi-sport event.
Ahmad Al Tayyib said China would be hosting the ABG for the second time, following Haiyang in 2012, and stressed the need for an impressive performance, especially following the historic debut participation of the Emirates in the recently concluded Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
Attendees also discussed the sports programme and the facilities and services available in the Sports Village. They were informed that the maximum travel time from the village to the furthest competition venue would not exceed 35 minutes, providing an ideal environment for athletes in terms of ease of navigation and concentration on competitions. The events are scheduled to take place in four main locations.
