Kathmandu, Nepal, March 3, 2026: Senior officials of the Nepal Olympic Committee met with Member Secretary of the National Sports Council Ram Charitra Mehta to discuss preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Tashi Ghale, Treasurer of the Nepal Olympic Committee, and Sujan Lal Shrestha, NOC Executive Secretary, met the NSC official on Sunday, March 1.
The Nepal Olympic Committee has registered more than 400 athletes in 32 sports for the 20th Asian Games from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
Among the team sports, Nepal is expected to send a women’s volleyball team, while cricket is also set to be a high-profile sport.
The NOC held workshops last month to discuss strategies with national associations, where it was emphasised that the focus will be on performance more than just participation.
