Kuwait City, Kuwait, March 2, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia is offering young wrestlers and wrestling coaches top-class tuition and instruction at the OCA/United World Wrestling Asian Youth Training Camp and Coaches Course this summer.
The camp will take place from July 7-16 in Guangzhou – host city of the 2010 Asian Games in southern China – and Asia’s National Olympic Committees have been reminded in a circular that the deadline for applications is March 11.
NOCs can send two wrestlers under 17 years of age – one girl and one boy – plus one coach to the camp, in cooperation with the national wrestling federation. The athletes must have been born between 01.01.2009 and 31.12.2011.
The camp will take place at Guangzhou Sports Polytechnic, which includes accommodation, the competition venue, dining hall and administrative offices, and will be delivered by a team of highly experienced UWW educators and experts, covering English, Arabic and Russian.
The instructors will include:
*Clarissa Chun (USA), Women’s Wrestling, UWW Educator. A decorated athlete, she won the 2008 World Championship, placed fifth at the 2008 Olympics and won a bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
*Ahmed Khedhri (TUN), Freestyle Wrestling, UWW Educator. Ahmed has held multiple roles within the Tunisia Wrestling Federation, including National Technical Director, President of the Technical Commission for six years and National Freestyle Coach for two years.
*Arsen Julfalakyan (ARM), Greco-Roman Wrestling, UWW Athletes Commission Chair. Arsen is a three-time Olympian and Olympic silver medallist, as well as a world champion, World Cup winner and European champion. He is a UWW Bureau member.
*Zach Errett (USA), UWW Educator Manager, former UWW Referee Commission Member. He officiated at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
