Tehran, Iran, February 25, 2026: Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has announced the launch of a smart monitoring system aimed at strengthening data-driven oversight of national teams.

The Iran NOC Secretary General highlighted that elite sport has entered a new era in which data analysis and scientific monitoring are essential for success.

He noted that, in 2025, more than 70 percent of national team preparation programmes worldwide were based on performance analytics, intelligent monitoring and injury prediction models.

Dr. Alinejad revealed that the Iran NOC has prioritised technological transformation as part of its high-performance strategy, with a new data-based infrastructure designed to integrate training, medical and performance information.

With this in mind, the establishment of an Innovation Department and cooperation with national scientific institutions were highlighted as key steps towards building a sustainable link between science, technology and elite sport.

Six federations – wrestling, cycling, handball, wushu, Sport for All and the Federation of Sports for the Disabled – were recognised as leading the way in the field of sports technology.
