Tashkent, Uzbekistan, February 24, 2026: OCA Vice President Otabek Umarov has been appointed to the FIA Senate – the global governing body for motorsport.
Umarov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, is the first Central Asian to join the Senate of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile and will ensure the region has a voice at the highest level of the motorsport industry.
“The inclusion of a representative from Uzbekistan in this prestigious structure will serve the development of motorsports and mobility in our country,” the Uzbekistan NOC posted on social media.
The FIA Senate is the body that makes strategic recommendations to the FIA General Assembly and plays an important role in the development of the organisation.
