Nepal NOC presents Olympic Solidarity grant to table tennis player Evana Thapa

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 22, 2026: The Nepal Olympic Committee presented up-and-coming table tennis player Evana Thapa with an Olympic Solidarity Athlete Scholarship last week.

 

The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, handed over a cheque for Nepali Rupees 647,775 (US$4,462) - the first instalment of the quarterly payment under the OS programme - to Thapa at the NOC headquarters in Kathmandu.

 

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her continued success and outstanding achievements in the days ahead,” the NOC posted.

 

Thapa, 18, is preparing for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. She has already represented Nepal at the Hangzhou Asian Games as part of the women’s team.
