Milan, Italy, February 20, 2026: The athletes competing at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games have elected Won Yun-jong (KOR, bobsleigh) and Johanna Talihärm (EST, biathlon) to the IOC Athletes’ Commission (AC) for a term of eight years ending at the Utah 2034 Olympic Winter Games.
A total of 2,393 athletes, representing a participation rate of 83.4 per cent, cast their vote at Athlete365 House, located in all the Olympic Villages.
They have taken the two positions vacated by IOC AC Chair Emma Terho (Finland, ice hockey) and member Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (Norway, cross-country skiing), who have completed their terms.
Won was a silver medallist at PyeongChang 2018 and also competed at Sochi 2014 and Beijing 2022.

A total of 11 athletes stood for election, representing 11 different National Olympic Committees and five different sports.
Won earned 1,176 votes, followed by four-time Olympian Taliharm with 983.
Han Cong (CHN, Figure Skating) received 338 votes, Zhanbota Aldabergenova (KAZ, Freestyle Skiing) 119 and Yohan Goncalves Goutt (Timor-Leste, Alpine Skiing) 111.
*Additionally, two appointed members, second Vice Chair Abhinav Bindra (India, shooting) and Zhang Hong (People’s Republic of China, speed skating), have reached the end of their terms.
