Milan, Italy, February 20, 2026: The President of Mongolia National Olympic Committee, IOC Member Battushig Batbold, believes former IOC President Thomas Bach continues to inspire athletes and sports leaders.
Writing on his social media account, Battushig posted a photo with Bach, who is now the Honorary IOC President after being succeeded by Kirsty Coventry last year.
“Always a pleasure to see our Honorary IOC President, Thomas Bach, and to warmly congratulate him on the 50th anniversary of his Olympic gold medal,” Battushig wrote, in reference to the German’s team fencing foil gold at Montreal 1976.
“His lifelong dedication to the Olympic Movement continues to inspire athletes and leaders around the world. It was an honor to see him on the 1st day of the Mongolian Lunar New Year and get the chance to invite him to Mongolia.”
