Milan, Italy, February 19, 2026: The President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Dr. Norza Zakaria, has hailed the “remarkable achievement” of Winter Olympian Aruwin Salehhuddin.
Aruwin competed in the Alpine Skiing Women’s Slalom on Wednesday, February 18 at the Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
OCM reports that 95 athletes from 57 National Olympic Committees qualified to compete in the event, including Aruwin. Aged 22, she is the first Malaysian female athlete to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games and made her second consecutive appearance at the XXV Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
Aruwin completed the race with a time of 1:54.82, finishing 44th out of the 53 skiers who successfully completed both Run 1 and Run 2.
“On behalf of the Olympic Family in Malaysia, I would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Aruwin on her remarkable achievement in her second consecutive appearance at the Olympic Winter Games,” said Dr. Norza.
Aruwin clocked 55.09 seconds in her first run for 54th place and 59.73 seconds in her second run for 44th place with a combined time of 1:54.82. Her time was 15.72 seconds off the gold medal pace of Mikaela Shiffrin (USA), who won in 1:39.10.
