Sana’a, Yemen, February 12, 2026: The Board of Directors of the Yemen Olympic Committee met for the first time this year on Wednesday, February 11 at the NOC headquarters in the capital Sana’a.
The meeting was chaired by NOC President Abdul Rahman Al-Akwaa, and the Board approved plans as well as the budget for 2026.
Among the main items on the agenda was Yemen’s participation in three major OCA Games this year – the Sanya Asian Beach Games in April, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in September-October, and the Riyadh Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in December.
Participation at the Dakar Youth Olympic Games in late October was also discussed.
Secretary General Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ahjeri revealed that with the financial support from the Olympic Council of Asia and Olympic Solidarity, the NOC will be able to hold various activities including training camps and competitions for athletes.
The Board thanked the various national sports federations and urged them to interact more with the NOC.
