Milan, Italy, February 12, 2026: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, was on hand to give a reassuring hug to the freestyle skiing moguls women’s team at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Wednesday, February 11.

The three-member Kazakhstan team of Ayaulym Amrenova, Yulia Galysheva and Anastasia Gorodko performed creditably by getting through the first two rounds and reaching the penultimate stage of qualifying in the women’s freestyle moguls competition.

But the trio fell short of reaching the final with Galysheva finishing 14th, Gorodko 15th and Amrenova 18th. Only the top eight finishers qualified for the final.

Despite missing out, the three athletes were left smiling with the Kazakhstan NOC President offering each of them reassuring words, high-fives and hugs after the competition ended.

A 36-strong athlete squad from Kazakhstan is taking part in 10 sports disciplines at the Winter Games.
